This is Going to End Badly!

Whenever I hear someone gloat or brag, the first thing I say to myself is, "This is going to end badly!" So I thought this would be a clever title. I am not bitter, and I am not crazy, I am usually half-comical most of the time, and I only get serious when I deal with people who have no sense of humor! Thank you!

Worst Cable Reality Shows

1. Operation Repo

Who wants to see people's cars being taken away? Depressing and trashy!

2. Chopped

Mean, hostile, biased, uses ingredients in the challenges that only maximum-security inmates know how to cook, why bother?

3. Mythbusters

Was very good the first season, then around the second season gave Karrie and the other guys a bigger role and ruined the show. The dynamic was ruined. Also, I can't really buy that the myths are busted because the guys don't put much effort into their projects. Karrie is super-annoying, even if she is pretty.

4. Real Housewives of Anywhere-

All of them are somewhat entertaining for a couple episodes, but banal afterward.

5. Ace of Cakes

Lame and boring.

6. Pawn Stars

Really sleazy. Located in Vegas, people bring in their valuables to be pawned for some money. You feel dirty watching the sleazy owners/employees pay virtually nothing and justify it to people who obviously have serious problems, serious enough to give away extremely valuable memorabilia or antiques for nothing.

7. No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain

Pretentious and self-serving. His ego dwarfs anything else on the show. Loves to go to Southeast Asia a LOT for some reason. I won't speculate.

8. Top Chef

Pulls the "Hell's Kitchen" stunt, which is cast 3 or 4 chefs that have a chance at winning the contest, and cast the rest with folks that don't have a chance. It's cruel, and it's biased. Many of the chefs are obviously well-qualified, but it is clear the Top Chef judges are biased towards a certain style of cooking and style. It really is kind of unfair.

9. MTV's reality shows

For some reason, most are really brain-dead, and always have been. I have nothing more to say.

10. Deadliest Warrior

Really dumb. Ok, let's pit two historical or current warriors against each other, and come to a largely subjective conclusion of which one will win. Normally, this sort of thing excites me, but when it is so illogical that it isn't even cool, that makes me tune out.

Top 10 Movies of 2009

1 Up In The Air
2 Star Trek
3 Avatar
4 Fast and Furious
5 Inglourious Basterds
6 The Hangover
7 District 9
8 State of Play
9 Notorious
10 Ninja Assassin

Now, I make no claim to be pretentious. There are a few on there that are dubious, I have no doubt. But I liked numbers 4, 9 and 10 better than other movies that came out. I remember this summer was terrible for movies. I was debating whether or not to put Notorious or Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 on, but I realized that for a movie I thought was going to be dreadful, Notorious was pretty solid. I'm not a snob, I don't like movies like There Will Be Blood, Children of Men, anything like that. I like good movies, and I have nothing to prove, intellectually, to anyone, like some movie review critics out there, lol.

Top 10 Movies of the Decade

Ok, so I read some lists of best movies of the decade, and I was appalled. I saw some seriously terrible, pretentious, dull movies on the lists of reviewers like Peter Travers. When you pretend to like awful movies that not only are dull, but have no plot, you come off as an insecure, pseudo-intellectual that cannot remember what a movie is supposed to be about: FUN.

So here is my top 20 list of movies of the decade, in no particular order. I look at my list as something that defined this decade, movies that people in the future will say, "Hey, this came out in that decade, remember that?" I am not pretentious, I guarantee that all of these movies are enjoyable!

1 Casino Royale
2 Star Trek
3 Slumdog Millionaire
4 City of God
5 28 Days Later
6 The Bourne Identity
7. The Dark Knight
8. Ocean's Eleven
9. Up In The Air
10 Ray
11 Cast Away
12 Collateral
13 House of Sand and Fog
14 Spy Game
15 Babel
16 Apocalypto
17 Master and Commander: Far Side of the World
18. The Descent
19 Avatar
20 The Lookout

I'm going to make a comedies list, because I feel it doesn't quite belong in a best movies category. I edited this and removed "Amores Perros" and inputted "Up in the Air" after seeing it today. That was amazing.
